Alpha Rho Chi was established in 1914 to encourage closer fellowship and a greater interest in the study of Architecture and the Allied Arts. The fraternity's name is derived from the first three letters of the Greek word for architecture, αρχιτεκτονική.  Alpha Rho Chi, the only national co-ed professional-social fraternity for architecture and the allied arts, is centered upon:

Alpha Rho Chi is proud to have made significant contributions to the professions of architecture and the allied arts for nearly a century.  As of September 2009 there are 20 active Alpha Rho Chi chapters and 17 Alumni Associations across the United States, and the fraternity continues to expand as new colonies are established and new chapters are installed. Alpha Rho Chi is a member of the Professional Fraternity Association, an organization of 36 professional fraternities established to preserve high standards of academic achievement and professional practice.  



Mission Statement

To organize and unite for educational professional development purposes the students of architecture and its allied arts in the universities and colleges of America and the alumni members of this fraternity in order that this fraternity may promote the artistic, scientific and practical proficiency of its membership and the profession.
